This was the fifth and last album released by Adge Cutler & The Wurzels within Adge's lifetime. It was originally released in the summer of 1972 as a 12" vinyl stereo LP on the Starline (EMI) record label (catalogue number SRS5119). A cassette tape release was made in 1975 and a CD version followed in 2009. Song Lyrics
When this album was released the line-up of Wurzels supporting Adge consisted of original Wurzel Reg Quantrill (guitar and banjo), Tommy Banner (accordion), and Tony Baylis (bass and sousaphone) and the artwork on the sleeve reflected this setup. Some of the tracks on the album are recordings by previous band line-ups.
This album was Adge's fifth and final LP. It has been claimed in some publications that it was a simply a compilation produced by EMI after his death in 1974 - this is incorrect in that it was released in 1972 and then repressed in 1974 after his death. The extent of Adge's involvement in this album is unclear although he did note the details of the tracks in one of his notebooks. The release contained six tracks that had previously only been issued on 45rpm singles, as well as one previously unreleased track 'I'd Love To Swim In The Zuider Zee'. The remainder of the compilation was taken from various albums. The tracks were edited together to give the impression of a continuous live performance with snatches of Adge's chat in between. The album was later re-issued in 1978 on the Encore label with different packaging and three 'bonus tracks'. The cassette version of the release has a slightly different track ordering. A review by 'The Gramophone Magazine' in their August issue of 1972 gave a brief insight of the album to the public! Thank goodness for the earthy Somerset vulgarity of Adge Cutler and the Wurzels in “Don’t Tell I, Tell ‘Ee” (Starline SRS 5119) with its total lack of false airs and pretension.
1969 saw a photoshoot at the 'Black Horse' in Clapton-In-Gordano - the results used to illustrate the group's 'Wurzelrama' tour programmes in 1969 and 1970. One of the shots was used for the artwork on this album in 1972, and another appeared on this Columbia Records promotional photocard.
This album consisted of ten previously released album and singles tracks, and one unreleased. Interesting to note that the composers called it 'I'd Love To Swim In The Cyder Sea' and Adge's original redrafts kept this spelling. The 'Zuider Zee' concept came later. c. This LP was originally released in 1972 in stereo and then repressed in 1974 - both releases on the EMI Starline label. The 'Starline' label was used by EMI from later 60's to early 70's as a vehicle for re-releases, compilations or putting 45rpm singles onto LP. Although a budget label it was used for many big-name groups as well as the more 'minor' ones.The examples below and the associated statistics are taken from the collection of Professor Wurzel and represent what a collector should expect to find. This example is slightly different from most in that on side 1 the ampersand before 'the Wurzels' on previous examples has been replaced with 'AND'. Also the spacing has increased before the line crediting the producer, Bob Barratt and the layout of the paragraph referring to record speed and stereo is offset at an angle instead of vertically aligned.

This pressing's vinyl is 132g, a mid-range weight. The colour of the label is a lighter turquoise than the other, earlier, variations. Additionally, on this example, on side 2 the ampersand before 'the Wurzels' on previous examples has been replaced with 'AND', and also on this side, the credits to the producer have been dropped a line down. This new label also saw the removal of the 'MADE IN GT. BRITAIN' wording on the lower half of the rim. This disc is in a wrap-around sleeve (1973 onwards) and the new company EMI type J inner sleeve.
This album appears to only come in two types of sleeve - the double flipback album sleeve (970-1973) with laminated front and flaps, and the wrap-around (1973 onwards). Both sleeves have exactly the same sleeve-notes, although in this case 'notes' isn't perhaps the best term to use. The tracks are all listed together with the location of the photo used for the artwork and the crediting of Bob Barratt as the record's producer. There are no details of the band members. The rest of the back of the sleeve is taken up with a list of some 20 other recordings on 'Starline'. The double-flipback sleeve has the standard information to be found on EMI Columbia record sleeves i.e. 'File under STANDARD' and 'Humorous Records' on the top flap and the printer and catalogue reference information (Garrod & Lofthouse) etc etc on the bottom flap. Of additional interest, which applies to all the sleeves for this album, is the small series of numbers that appear under (in this case) SRS5119 in the top right hand corner. In this case the number begins (IE 048.... etc) and is an example of EMI's new coding system. Between 1969 and 1982 EMI adopted an international coding system which they hoped would get adopted industry wide, and they used it worldwide for their own releases. In fact, the numbers used did eventually form the basis of the 7-digit numbers adopted in 1983 and inserted into EAN/UPC barcode-based cataloguing, used to this day.
