This single release, on 5th December 2011, was to promote the group's latest album The Wurzels Christmas Album. It was released as an internet download.
At the time of the recording of this single The Wurzels consisted of Pete Budd, Tommy Banner, John Morgan and Sedge Moor.
Two tracks were released on this download single - Sleigh Ride and White Christmas issued to give a taste of The Wurzels latest album, 'The Wurzels Christmas Album'. As with the group's previous two singles it was only made generally available via internet download. Both tracks were produced by part-time Wurzel Louie Nicastro. A music video was produced to accompany the release and can be viewed here.
A promotional copy of this single was made available for radio stations and the like. The disc was a basic black on white as shown. The sleeve was a clear plastic design with a paper insert. The main image was as shown top of page, the back image, shown below, giving basic promotional information. More information was printed on stickers on the plastic sleeve. Interestingly the second image has a release dates after the actual release. The third image is the promotional release in 2012.
