This compilation CD was released in 1991 alongside a cassette of the same name and features well-known tracks by both Adge Cutler & The Wurzels and The Wurzels in their own right. Although it appears to be the same release as the cassette the latter has 5 tracks omitted. This was the first CD released to feature recordings by Adge Cutler and The Wurzels. Interestingly this CD was issued with two catalogue references, At a period of changeover between the older style reference codes and the newer barcode type of identification the CD was both 'CD IDL 114' and 'CDP 7 96080 2' and was released on the EMI Ideal Label.
Tracks 1 to 13 are taken from previous Wurzel recordings - details to follow soon! Tracks 14 to 25 are a compilation of Adge Cutler/Wurzel recordings - details as follows Note - The tracks shown here in Bold are not included in the cassette release of this album).
The music CD was introduced in the UK in the early 1980s. By the time of this release it was a relatively common form of media to release music on. Interestingly though the case and disc had the imprinted logo with the words 'Compact Disc digital audio' to remind the buyer exactly what the item was, with the insert having a paragraph on how to look after and play it.
The insert in this CD is a paper fold-out 'booklet'.
The artwork for this CD was of the standard layout for all EMI ideal releases. The two colour photographs used (as can be seen in the top of page image) were taken from the video photoshoot for the 1976 hit 'Combine Harvester' and the 1967 film (released only in black and white) for Adge's 1967 single release 'I Wish I Was Back On The Farm'.The insert, on glossy paper, was folded into three sections and printed on both sides.
