The
Finest 'Arvest Of The Wurzels featuring Adge Cutler
The
Wurzels - Adge Cutler & The Wurzels
EMI
Gold 534 4102 (CD)
EMI Gold ??? (cassette)
Release
Date: August 2001
This
a reissue of the 2000 Finest 'Arvest album,
updated and re-released by EMI Gold to include the Combine
Harvester 2001 Remixsingle which
had charted earlier in 2001.
At
first glance it looks almost identical to the original
release, but the reissue has 25 tracks instead of the
original 24. The extra track is, of course, the remix
single, but the last track on the original 2000 release
(Rock Around The A38) has been replaced on
this reissue by Drink, Drink Yer Zider Up for
reasons of space.
Record
collectors beware - when offered a copy of the CD,
check carefully which version it is! The front cover
is identical to the original, but the track listing
on the back of the CD is obviously different. Also when
you open up the CD case, the back page of the booklet
has a photograph of the 2001 band line-up - John Morgan,
Tommy Banner, Dave Winter and Pete Budd - instead of
the picture of the combine harvester. The original sleeve
notes by Paul Gunningham were unchanged.

Now
you can listen to some Real Audio sound clips from
the CD - here
on the Wurzelmania!website, by kind
official permission of EMI Records, London, England.
You'll need a suitable player capable of playing Real
Audio - if you haven't got one you can download one
from The Real Audio
website for free!
Note:
These Real Audio extracts have been encoded at a much
lower sound quality than the CD - this is so that they
won't take ages to download. They're just to give those
who haven't heard The Wurzels or Adge Cutler an idea
what some of the songs sound like. The CD is of course
recorded in glorious Wurzelphonic 44.1KHz 16-bit stereo!
Wurzelmania! thanks EMI Records for making the above
excerpts available.
